The Egyptian government recently announced that it will wind resource-rich areas in Upper Egypt to establish a new wind farm. Egyptian Ministry of Electricity officials say the region of Upper Egypt, Ministry of Electric Power decided to allocate a total of 1.5 million feddans (about 630,000 hectares) of government land for the construction of wind farms. The announced distribution of land, including the three provinces in Upper Egypt region, are rich in wind resources, but relatively slow economic development of the region, the Egyptian government would not only focus on their development and use of wind energy, but also hopes to promote the region, rapid economic and sustainable development.
